China has witnessed double-digit growth in retail consumption during the 7-day Spring Festival holiday, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) Saturday.
The total retail sales reached 470 billion yuan ($74.2 billion) during the holiday, up 16.2 percent compared to the same period last year, the MOFCOM said.
The sales of garments, jewelry and food grew by 18.7 percent, 16.4 percent and 16.2 percent year-on-year in major cities.
