A seven-year separation between a master and his dog came to an end on February 6, when a man found his long-lost dog on the roadside in Beijing.

The owner, surnamed Chen, first adopted the dog in 2003 but lost him two years later.

"I was too distraught to even think about getting another pet," Chen recalled.

Then, just this last Lantern Festival Day - also known as "Reunion Day" - Chen was out driving to visit his parents, when he spotted his dog by the side of the road. After rolling down his window and whistling toward the animal, it raced toward him with wild abandon.
