Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will visit Malaysia on Monday to introduce herself and enhance bilateral cooperation, local media Kaosod reported on Sunday.

Her visit to Malaysia was postponed from October last year due to the flood crisis in the country. The visit is part of the ASEAN tour which is aimed at introducing herself to other leaders and seeking tighter relationship with their countries.

During her one-day stay, Yingluck will meet with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak in Putrajaya city.

The meeting is expected to help strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the sector of border security including drugs and human trafficking and weapons smuggling.

Thailand's first female premier will also have a royal audience with Malaysia's 14th King Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah at the National Palace before participating in a dinner hosted by her Malaysian counterpart.
