Jeremy Lin, was born on August 23, 1988 in Los Angeles, California, and is a US professional basketball player in the NBA with the New York Knicks. He graduated from Harvard University with a degree in economics and a 3.1 GPA (grade-point average).
He grew up in a Christian family, and his parents emigrated from Taiwan to the US in the mid-1970s. His mother gave birth to three sons, and Lin is the middle child. His older brother Josh is a dental student at New York University, and his younger brother Joseph is a basketball player at Hamilton College.
Lin is an evangelical Christian who was a leader with Harvard's Asian American Christian Fellowship during his college years.
He was named as one the top eight influential Chinese-Americans in July 2011 by Vivid Magazine, a magazine dedicated to overseas Chinese people around the world. Lin has had the best-selling jersey in the NBA since February 4, 2012, when he played more than 30 minutes in an NBA game for the first time in his career.
