Senior Chinese leader Li Changchun Tuesday called on State-owned companies to learn from an elite rocket scientist in their own drive to enhance innovation.
Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remark while visiting the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, the country's largest developer of missile-based weapon systems.
Li referred to Huang Weilu, one of the founders of China's aerospace industry and an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as a role model for innovation. Praising Huang as a model for senior scientists, Li said the society can learn from his "innovative spirit."
