Ning Feng Violin Recital

Renowned Chinese violinist Ning Feng will present a concert in Shanghai featuring violin sonata scores from Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich. Ning was the first person to be given a perfect score for his final recital at the Royal Academy of Music in the UK and won the prestigious Paganini Violin Competition in 2006.

Lorin Maazel and the Philharmonia Orchestra Concert

Under the baton of well-known conductor Lorin Maazel, the Philharmonia Orchestra will present a classical music concert with leading Chinese violinist Chen Jiafeng. It will feature the scores from Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto and Mahler's Symphony No.1. As one of the most famous conductors in the world, Maazel has conducted over 150 orchestras and staged more than 5,000 concerts over the past 50 years.

Roxette 2012 Shanghai Concert

Veteran Swedish pop music duo Roxette are back in China after 17 years to perform famous numbers such as "It Must Have Been Love," "Joyride," "The Look," "Listen To Your Heart" and "Fading Like A Flower." Some of their greatest hits have been translated into Chinese and sung by famous Chinese singers over the past two decades. Consisting of the vocalist Marie Fredriksson and guitarist Per Gessle the band was formed in 1986.

Rudolf Buchbinder Piano Concert

Czech pianist Rudolf Buchbinder is a skilled interpreter of the works of Beethoven and Brahms. Under the baton of Fabio Luisi, Buchbinder will perform Beethoven's Concerto No.4 In G Major and Brahms' Symphony No.4 In E Minor alongside the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.

Shanghai International Literature Festival

The 10th Shanghai International Literature Festival will be held at the newly renovated Glamour Bar on the Bund. There will readings and talks by writers including Caitlin Reilly, Amy Tan, Jeff Fuchs, Barbara Demick and cartoonist Matt Groening. A full list of writers and schedules is available at www.m-restaurantgroup.com.
