Shock at faint proposal

A 30-year-old man, holding roses and a diamond ring, collapsed at Xizhimen Subway Station Tuesday, after his girlfriend rejected his marriage proposal, the Legal Mirror reported.

The woman started crying when she saw her boyfriend was unconscious, and then murmured "I do, I do" in his ear. The man recovered after receiving first aid from station employees. The man said he was too sad to withstand the rejection.

Two sentenced to death

Two men who murdered a female tour guide were sentenced to death yesterday at a court in Beijing, the Legal Mirror reported yesterday.

In March 2009, Yan Qian, 27, rented her Audi to the pair, to earn money for her wedding. They killed Yan near Beijing Capital International Airport, and dumped her body, which was never recovered, into the Yellow River, at Jinan, Shandong Province.
