Peek into the past

Travel to Old Peking through the lens of German photographer Heinz von Perckhammer (1895-1965) during the final weekend of Scenes from the Old Capital, a free exhibition that displays rare images of monuments in disrepair, long disappeared neighborhoods and intimate scenes of ordinary people during the Republic of China (1911-1949).

At age 24, classical pianist Alice Sara Ott has performed with every major symphony from London to Tokyo and has an exclusive recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon. See her perform an intimate program of Mozart variations, Chopin waltzes and Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 3 in C major.
