Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak arrived in Manila on Sunday to witness the signing of the Framework Agreement between the Philippine government and the country's largest rebel group scheduled on Monday.
It is Najib's first visit to the country since he became Prime Minister in 2009, upon the invitation of Philippine President Benigno Aquino III.
There will be arrival honors for Najib at the Malacanang, or the Presidential Palace, on Monday morning, followed by a bilateral meeting with Aquino prior to the signing ceremony due to be held on Monday afternoon.
During his stay in Manila, Najib will also meet with Philippine business and industry leaders under the auspices of the Philippines-Malaysia Business Council.
Najib will be one of the guests witnessing the signing of the framework agreement between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Font (MILF), the country's largest rebel group.
Malaysia has been the third party facilitator of the GPH-MILF peace talks since 2001 and the head of the International Monitoring Team since 2004.
