Ali Hamzi, a Tunisian man suspected of involvement in the attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi on September 11 has refused to be interrogated by FBI agents who traveled to Tunisia to interrogate him, Shems FM reported on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old man was arrested in Turkey and expelled to Tunisia on October 11, where he was charged of belonging to a terrorist organization.
"The FBI agents wanted to interrogate my client as a witness but he refused," his lawyer said, denouncing an "intrusion in Tunisian judicial affairs."
He also said that the interrogation attempt had taken place " secretly" ten days ago, without informing the defense department, the report said.
