World's highest Ferris wheel starts operations on September 1

The highest Ferris wheel in the world, with its base on the roof of Guangzhou Tower, will start operations on September 1, as reported by the New Express Daily on Wednesday.

The Ferris wheel is built on the 450-meter-high Guangzhou Tower. There are 16 sight-seeing cabins around its track and each pod can hold up to six people.

The Ferris wheel ride takes about 20 minutes and visitors can enjoy Guangzhou's landscape from all angles.

The big wheel, rises 15 degrees from the roof on one side of the round track, is reported to be able to resist earthquakes of 8.0 magnitude and 12-level typhoons. 

The price of a ride on this Ferris wheel is expected to be 130 yuan ($20.35).
