Suicide-plagued Foxconn Technology Group plans to move its desktop-producing line in Shenzhen Longhua Manufacturing base to Wuhan, central Hubei Province of China, according to reports Thursday.
The manufacturing line provides IT components to Hewlett-Packard (HP), Microsoft and Lenovo.
Though the Taiwanese company didn't comment on the report, its plan indicates a paving-the-way attempt for the enterprise's complete resettlement in Chinese inner cities.
Industry insiders believe Wuhan will be in a dominant position with big profits, for Foxconn's current manufacturing line contributes to an output value of more than 50 billion yuan ($7.38 billion) per year to the local government, and if combined with additional factors, the number enlarges.
According to previous reports, in June, Foxconn authorized Wuhan personnel bureau to immediately recruit 28,000 new staff members.
