Party school not for wining and dining

The Party school is directly administrated by the Central Committee of the CPC, and its main task is to promote innovative theories and guidelines of the Party, and to train senior and mid-level Party and government officials.

President Hu Jintao was the president of the Central Party School from 1993 to 2002. At present, Vice President Xi Jinping is president.

Many non-Party officials at the ministerial level, such as vice governors of provinces, have also received training at the school, Li said.

The teaching faculty at the Central Party School must follow strict rules and teach according to the guidelines and policies of the Party.

Those who violate the rules face stern criticism and could lose the opportunity to teach, Li said.

"The teachers at the Central Party School have lots of pressure," Li said. "It's difficult to be a good teacher at the Party school."
