Guard shot dead by cop

A security guard was shot dead yesterday morning during a dispute with a police officer at a hotel in Kunming, Yunnan Province, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

The police officer, surnamed Li, from the narcotics control bureau in Liangshanzhou, Sichuan Province, shot the unnamed guard at about 0:19 am after drinking at the Wujing Hotel on Wujing Road in the city’s Guandu district.

The police officer has been detained, and the incident is being investigated, the reported said.
