Ships resume service

Shipping services resumed in South China's Qiongzhou Straits Wednesday at noon, after a 52-hour suspension due to Typhoon Ketsana.

Passenger crafts at risk of being damaged by gales were forced to suspend service at 7:30 am Monday, and eight hours later, the straits was closed to shipping as the typhoon approached.

Nearly 300 vehicles were stranded at the port.
