Water shortage lingers

Nearly 420,000 people in East China's Jiangxi Province are faced with drinking water shortages as the drought continues.

Nine rivers in the province recorded the lowest water levels.

Officials estimated the drought would continue through November 20.

Authorities are digging wells to ensure drinking water supply and are sending water wagons to townships and villages.
