Preventive measures

Except waiting for vaccination, some people have taken measures to fight the virus.

In Changsha, capital of Hunan Province, people wearing colorful masks with different cartoon designs is part of the landscape, Sanxiang Metropolis Daily reported Tuesday.

"Fifty masks came in two days ago, but only two are left now," a boutique owner surnamed Chen on Wangfujing Street in Changsha, said.

Wearing a mask is a good way to prevent the virus, but wearing poor quality masks may be worse for one's health, doctors warned.

"Instead of chasing fashion, people better go to hospitals and drug stores to buy surgical masks," said a doctor surnamed Zhu, from Hunan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.

In Shandong Province, residents tried to kill the virus through sprinkling liquid antiseptic, which are selling fast, the Xinhua News Agency reported Tuesday.

In Beijing, office workers are doing exercises to be stronger.

A company's workers were seen kicking legs and stretching arms at around 3 pm every day following a video shown in their office in Wangjing of Beijing's Chaoyang district.

"In order to help the employees better prepare for the flu season, we choreographed the exercise and hope they can get fit and refreshed," the company's human resources manager surnamed Yang was quoted by Legal Mirror as saying Monday.

Students in the capital could have classes online at home if their school is shut down due to an outbreak, Beijing News reported Tuesday.

In the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, schools have taken the influenza's prevention and control information into classes.

On Monday, several sixth grade students from a primary school in Jinfeng district, Yinchuan performed a sketch in the class on how to prevent the influenza, People's Daily reported on its website.
