Mourning suspended

Authorities in Yichun, Heilongjiang Province, late Sunday revoked an earlier decision to suspend entertainment activities Monday intended as a show of mourning for victims killed in a plane crash Tuesday.

Gao Weidong, vice chief of the publicity department with the Yichun Committee of the Communist Party of China, said the city had made a new decision to readjust the timing and method of mourning for the victims. Gao cited the will of the relatives of the victims as the reason for the change in the arrangements.

A ERJ-190 jet carrying 96 people crashed upon landing in Yichun, killing 42 of them.
