France: The 12th Festival Croisements opens

The 12th Festival Croisements held a press conference at the French Embassy in Beijing on April 18, marking the start of the new cultural exchange between the two countries in 2017. At the event, famous Chinese rock music pioneer Cui Jian, movie director Jia Zhangke, dancer Wang Yabin, cartoonist Lu Ming and sculptor Sui Jianguo were invited to be the promotional ambassadors of the 12th Festival Croisements, during which 216 activities will be held in 30 cities in China from May 6 to July 9. The fields of art that will be presented this year include opera, dancing, music, film and visual arts. Meanwhile, some French artists have also been invited to participate in the activities and produce and present their self-made artwork based on the inspiration they captured from Chinese contemporary elements. The French Ambassador to China Maurice Gourdault-Montagne gave an opening speech at the event.
