China spots 2 mln mobile Internet malicious programs in 2016: report

A report on China's mobile Internet development shows that a total of 2 million new mobile Internet malicious programs were spotted in 2016, up 39 percent from the previous year.

The report, by the Internet Society of China and the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center (CNCERT), aims to spot problems in mobile Internet industry and strengthen mobile Internet security.

He Nengqiang, a senior engineer with the CNCERT said China had about 2.3 billion mobile Internet terminals in 2016, with 1.9 billion terminals operating Android system, and 310 million operating IOS system.
