The annual Bird's Nest opera show will be staged at Beijing's Olympic park from June 29 to July 30, the event's organizers announced on Tuesday.

The show will also involve synchronized swimming events and diving events held at the Water Cube, the venue for aquatic events during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

The opera show series, which started in 2012 and is named after the Beijing National Stadium, has in previous years been held at both the Bird's Nest and the adjacent Water Cube.

Bian Liunian, a famous musician focusing on the traditional Chinese two-stringed instrument known as the erhu, will be the director of the musical portion of the show.

According to the organizers, performances will be held Thursdays through Sundays. Regular admission will cost 99 yuan ($14.50).
