With more than 300 events scheduled for its week-long run, the 28th Hong Kong Book Fair kicked off Wednesday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.

Renowned mainland writers including Han Shaogong, Hugo winner Hao Jingfang and Zhou Meisen - author of In the Name of People, the book that led to the hit TV series of the same name - are expected to attend the fair.

Taking tourism as its theme, this year's annual fair will showcase a selection of books from nine renowned Hong Kong travel writers, as well as an exhibition of photos showing the beauty of Hong Kong and Southwest China's Sichuan Province, which is this year's province of honor at the fair.

The fair is expected to host a record-breaking 670 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions around the world.
