Multi-national anthology film Where Has the Time Gone? has been scheduled for release in Chinese mainland cinemas on October 19.

Where Has Time Gone? features five separate stories filmed by five directors representing each of the BRICS member countries: Jia Zhangke from China, Walter Salles from Brazil, Russia's Aleksey Fedorchenko, India's Madhur Bhandarkar and Jahmil X.T. Qubeka from South Africa.

The film centers on the theme of time and people.

According to a report from Chinese film site Mtime, the common element between these BRICS countries is that they are all experiencing rapid economic development.

"However, different cultural backgrounds and history mean different ways of thinking. Where Has Time Gone? …demonstrates how each filmmaker looks at the lives and societies of their home country during roughly the same time period," the Mtime report wrote.
