A 21-year-old female college student had a heart stroke during a flight from Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province, to Shanghai Friday. Fortunately she was attended to by Zhou Jia, vice president of Shuguang Hospital, who happened to be on the same flight, Xinmin Evening News reported Tuesday.

Zhou recalled that the girl showed signs of cardiogenic shock as the plane began to descend. She had a rapid heart rate with a pulse exceeding 150 beats per minute, low blood pressure and was sweating.

Zhou pressed the girl's neiguan and hegu acupuncture points on her arm and hand. Combined with oxygen inhalation and psychological comfort, the girl's pulse gradually returned to normal after five minutes.
