Celebrated Dutch Michelin chef to visit Conrad Beijing

The Conrad Beijing is thrilled to welcome famed Michelin-star, Dutch chef Syrco Bakker of Pure C to join its culinary team from September 27 to 28. He will be presenting a 10-course menu comprising some of his most inspired and exciting creations at the hotel's restaurant 29 Grill.

Chef Bakker's menu will feature some of his signature creations and newly inspired plates created for this exclusive dining event. Fine de Claire Oyster with "Hierbas de las Dunas" margarita granite and sea water foam and Angus beef entrecote with tarragon cream, rose hip vinaigrette and zucchini tagliatelle are some of what guests can expect. 

Born in Veghel, Chef Bakker grew up in the beautiful Oisterwijk where he quickly realized his talent for cooking. He later got a degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management and poured his heart into becoming a chef.

Holidays gave him the opportunity to gain experience. As a "cooking nomad," Bakker traveled throughout Europe to learn in the best restaurants. After working with chefs Jonnie Boer and Gordon Ramsay, he went to work with Sergio Herman at Oud Sluis. There Bakker found a home. The cooking style, way of thinking and the freedom to create culinary masterpieces with top quality fresh products was exactly what he was looking for.

Since Pure C's opening in 2010, Bakker has continued to raise the bar as head chef. Innovation and creativity drive this adventurous chef. With his team of 18, he bucks trends and sets his own standards.

29 Grill offers something for every taste and occasion. The stylish restaurant specializes in prime seafood and imported beef, accompanied by a comprehensive wine list. An intimate dining room and a more casual bar cater to both formal dinners and relaxed lounging.
