"This is just a vending machine with some tables and chairs. Nowadays people like to promote everything with the gimmick of 'smart,' 'sharing' or 'unmanned.'"

So said a Net user named "Teacher Liu next door" in commenting on the first "unmanned" cafe in Beijing. The 12-square-meter cafe is located on the University of International Business and Economics campus and has two self-help coffee makers and a bar counter. It has attracted many female students. "It is called an unmanned cafe, but doesn't it still need staff to clean the equipment or remove coffee grounds?" the Net user asked. An expert said that the "unmanned" cafe is still far from a hi-tech unmanned convenience store despite having automated equipment. (Source: Beijing Evening News)
