A music salon attended by award-winning artists and young music students from China and Germany was held on Saturday night at the Steinway Hall Beijing to promote culture exchange between the two countries.

At the salon, German accordion quintet Musicforum Olching led by Karin Renner-Kiese and young piano students led by Caroline Liu performed Chinese traditional music and Western classics. Renner-Kiese's quintet has won a number of awards, including the German Ministry of Culture's Youth Music Award and Accordion Award. Liu's students have also performed well in exams sanctioned by the British Royal Academy of Music.

As a non-official event marking the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Germany, the concert offered a platform for artists and music students from the two nations to share music and exchange ideas.
