Taiwan's electronics giant Foxconn, Apple's iPhone factory which is officially known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, is reportedly offering to buy Japan's Toshiba Corp's chip unit for 2.1 trillion yen ($19.5 billion).

Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou has gained support for the deal from Apple, SoftBank Group and Sharp Group, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing Louis Woo, a spokesman for the company.

The price compares with a 2.1-trillion-yen bid by a group led by Bain Capital and a 2-trillion-yen offer from a KKR & Co-led consortium, according to the report.

Toshiba is still in talks with three groups for the sale of its most valuable business, it said. The Japanese electronics manufacturer declined to comment.
