I am strong, healthy and sexy

I have been going to the gym two to three times a week for about three months now. Recently, something unusual has been happening to my body.

The reason I go to the gym is to lose weight. But after three months of hard work, I barely lost two kilograms. People say I look slimmer, but the most important thing is that I have become somewhat muscular.

Before I started going to the gym, I could hardly feel any muscle in my body. Now, even when I am wearing long sleeves, people can see the shape of my biceps.

I was excited in the beginning. However, later I found that my muscles were developing faster than any girl I know. For example, within two weeks my muscles increased by 1.2 kilograms, while fat decreased by only 0.3 kilograms. No wonder my weight did not drop much. I have never seen any girl have such a sharp increase in muscle density.

I panicked a little. But my coach said I need not be. Speedy muscle growth is so rare that few people achieve it, he said. The only thing I need to pay attention to is slightly lessening the intensity of my weight exercises and doing more aerobic exercise.

However, some of my friends began to tease me, saying that I would become a person with woman's head and man's body. It got worse after I posted selfies of myself working out at the gym. Some even said that such a "macho queen" would not attract men.

The views of some of my male friends make me sick. They think women only go to the gym to lose weight and make themselves more attractive to men. I strongly disagree.

Women should be able to decide what look they like and live the life they like, instead of doing everything to please men. I go to the gym to make myself healthier. I think I rather like being more toned, and I will stick to it.

Muscles can bring more good than you could think. During the three months, my allergies gradually eased, and I never got ill. Also, my digestion improved, and I never had problems with illnesses like dyspepsia or diarrhea. The coach at the gym said it is because my muscles help increase my immunity and basal metabolic rate.

My weight has also been decreasing, albeit very slowly. Before I started going to the gym, I used to starve myself to lose weight. Then after one filling meal, the weight would bounce back as if I never lost it. That does not happen anymore even though I eat filling meals.

I view the speedy development of muscles as one of my unique talents. It is not bad to become strong. I do not like to be too thin, and I think being muscular is kind of sexy. So, those who do not like my new look can stuff it.

Girls, don't be afraid to become a "macho queen," you have no reason to be afraid to become strong, healthy and sexy.
