1,600,000 - the total number of shared bikes in Beijing so far, according to statistics released by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport on September 5. Some residents say the shared bikes are parked just where they like and that they hope the commission will supervise their use. Zhou Zhengyu, head of the commission, said the number of shared bikes is likely to continue to increase, but they will make moves to control the number of bikes if the residents' needs are satisfied.

635,000 - the number of families in Beijing that have capital of over 6 million yuan ($918,512) this year, according to the Hurun Wealth Report 2017 released on September 5. Beijing has the most families with capital of over 6 million yuan in the country. One in every 83 people in the city is a multimillionaire while one in every 1,200 to 1,600 people is a billionaire.

1,227 - the number of complaints lodged by tourists in Beijing between January and August, according to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development on September 11. The complaints decreased by 55 percent compared with the same period in 2016. Among them, complaints about day tours dropped by 45 percent in comparison with 2016. This year, the commission has partnered with tourist police and other bodies to crack down on illegal tour guides, travel agencies, restaurants and vehicles involved in one-day tour services.

290,000 - the number of people who have received psychological counseling through the first 24-hour hotline for free psychological consultations since its launch by the Beijing Huilongguan Hospital 15 years ago. According to the data, over 50 percent of the callers were at risk for suicide, the majority being the young and middle-aged.
