Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Liu Yunshan Monday called on China and Vietnam to turn the consensus reached by the two countries' leaders into concrete actions.

Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, arrived in Hanoi on Monday for an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

During talks with Tran Quoc Vuong, a member of the Politburo of the CPV Central Committee, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Head of the Committee's Inspection Commission, Liu said Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, and General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong have provided important guiding opinions on the development of bilateral ties and reached broad consensus.

The most important task for the two countries is to turn the consensus into concrete actions, he said.

In order to fulfil the task, Liu made five-point suggestions, which include building a community of common destiny, strengthening high-level exchanges, promoting integration of development strategies and enhance practical cooperation, consolidating public support for bilateral ties, and properly managing differences and enhancing maritime cooperation so as to build a sound environment for the healthy and stable development of China-Vietnam relations.

Liu stressed that the CPC stands ready to enhance friendly communication with the CPV, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning in such areas as ideology, organization, institution and anti-corruption in order to promote the two countries' socialist construction and party building.

For his part, Tran Quoc Vuong said it is a diplomatic priority of the country to consolidate and strengthen traditional friendship as well as the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation with China.

Vietnam stands ready to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the two countries' leaders, strengthen political mutual trust, enhance practical cooperation on various fields and promote healthy and stable development of the Vietnam-China relations, Vuong said.
