"High-value items must be insured."

Over 90 pieces of diamond jewelry were sent by a jewelry store via express delivery from Yibin, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, to Shanghai recently, but along the way 42 pieces were "lost" and 32 pieces damaged, costing the store nearly 200,000 yuan ($30,424.8), Shanghai Morning Post reported Wednesday. Official courier industry compensation standards reimburse for only seven times the amount of the courier fee, with a maximum of 1,000 yuan per order. The two sides are still negotiating on the issue.
