A skateboarding showdown unfolded in Shanghai during the 2017 Vans Park Series (VPS) World Championships, where Oskar Rozenberg Hallberg and Nora Vasconcellos were crowned the new world champions of park terrain skateboarding.

Taking place Saturday at Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal near the waterfront area of the Bund, the championship pitted skateboarding elite pros against select VPS Continental Champions to present a showcase of men's and women's park terrain skateboarding talent from across the world.

Utilizing a custom-designed, purpose-built VPS-certified park terrain competition course constructed against the mesmerizing backdrop of the Shanghai skyline, highlights of this year's event included a center island extension, a kicker into laid back bank, a round flat bar, big hip into the deep end, huge jump box and other terms only true skateboarders understand.

Park terrain is the fastest growing division in competitive skateboarding, with its unparalleled combination of speed, style, fluency, range and creativity. 2017 Vans Park Series professional group tour is the premier event for professional park skateboarders. The competition spanned five countries and lasted over six months.
