"My wife and I were just looking for ways to earn money to save our son. We decided to perform in the streets, but we are both farmers and don't have talent. It suddenly came to our minds that the cattle and sheep in our hometown eat grass, and we can perform that."

So said a man named Kuang Nengyong, who ate grass with his wife on the street in Sanhe, Hebei Province. Their only son has leukemia, and they cannot afford to pay for the treatment. They didn't get much money, but videos of their performance were uploaded to the Internet. Kuang and his wife stopped performing because they were afraid that their son would find out. They are thinking about other ways to get money but have not come up with any as yet. The couple spent more than 700,000 yuan ($105,457) on their son's medical treatment, which was all their savings including money borrowed from relatives and friends. They still need about 300,000 yuan for the boy's future treatment. (Source: Beijing Youth Daily)
