Cooperation in energy and technology along the Belt and Road initiative countries was put under the spotlight as the eighth International Capital Conference - Chinese Academy of Sciences Interactive Innovation Forum Service - was held in Beijing on November 29 and 30.

With the theme of energy partnership along One Belt, One Road, the event aims to enhance communication and exchanges, creating more opportunities for business and innovation. More than 150 deputies of high-tech and finance giants were present, including Lenovo Group, GEELY Holding Group, ORIX Group and Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Holdings Co Ltd - co-organizer of the event.

"Clean energy is one of the top four essential fields in the future among artificial intelligence, big health and the creative industry," said Wu Lebin, board chair of CAS Holdings, stressing that advanced energy technology in Europe and the US and a huge demand for development in China are highly complementary. A good integration of the two will not only bring huge economic output, but also environmental benefits.

According to Wu, CAS Holdings is now developing methanol fuel, the so-called "liquid sunshine," creating a green and efficient energy system. A "Green Development Fund of Funds" is being set up to boost the development of green economy and finance services worldwide.
