The newly opened Jiabei Country Park is offering visitors a free e-map, which provides information about locations of tourist attractions, restrooms and restaurants, as well as routes for sightseeing buses and boats, thepaper.cn reported Tuesday.

It took two months for the project to be completed and put into operational use, according to the report. Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) were used to map out the park.

Shanghai, in 2012, announced it would be building 21 new countryside parks around the city to promote an ecological civilization.

Five have already opened to the public, and have become quite popular among local residents.

E-maps for Pujiang and Guangfulin countryside parks are presently being drawn up.
