"A lot of people live in the building. He should not have set the fire even though he resented me."

So said a woman surnamed Li who owns a three-story building in Dongxindian village, Chaoyang district. The building contains more than 50 rooms and has more than 100 occupants. One night, Li was shouted awake by one of her tenants after the tenant found that Li's room was on fire. The fire was later put out and no one injured. According to the monitoring camera, a tenant surnamed Lu piled two quilts and a thermos at the door of Li's room and lit them. Lu said he set the fire because he felt he lost face after Li nagged him to pay the rent. He set the fire after getting drunk. Lu was detained. (Source: The Beijing Morning Post)
