Hundreds of consumer complaints on New Year

Shanghai received 348 consumer complaints over the New Year's holiday, Xinmin Evening News reported Tuesday.

Internet service, clothes and household items received the most complaints, according to Shanghai Administration for Industry & Commerce.

There were all together 33 complaints related to online commerce, including the delay of items purchased online, disputes on e-retail platforms, or poor broadband connection.

Thirty-one cases were related to clothing, 26 about household items and 24 related to food and beverage or accommodations, a rise of 30 percent compared with the same period in 2017.

Most complaints were related to after-sales service, accounting for 56 percent, up by 7 percentage points. Complaints related to advertising accounted for 12 percent. Quality related complaints  decreased to 11 percent.
