Saudi air defence intercepted on Thursday a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militias on border city Najran, Al Arabiya local news reported.

The forces also intercepted a missile that targeted Najran last week in which it caused a minor damage to private property of one citizen, while no injuries reported.

The spokesperson of the Saudi-led coalition, Colonel Turki al-Maliki, highlighted that the previous attack caused a minor damage to private property of one citizen, while no injuries reported. He described the incident of a hostile attack and accused Iran of continuing to back Houthi militias.

He renewed his call for the international community to take more serious and effective steps to "stop the Iranian violations of the continuing smuggling and transfer of ballistic missiles and weapons to terrorist groups and outlaws in Yemen."

Saudi Arabia has been leading a war against Houthis in Yemen since 2015 that led to hundreds of deaths among armed groups and civilians.
