"I have been on the run for over 20 years, and I knew that I would be caught sooner or later."

So said a suspect surnamed Su who has been on the run since he stabbed a man to death with a knife in 1995. At that time, he was 27 years old, and he had a dispute, beat up and killed a man near the Fengtai railway station in Beijing. Su then fled. In order to escape the punishment, he left his wife and newborn son and cut connections with his parents. Su bought a fake ID card, found a new job and married another woman and had children with her in Zhejiang Province where he has been living since 2000.
