A North China couple said they are considering filing a lawsuit against a livestream platform after their 11-year-old daughter spent more than 50,000 yuan ($7,310) tipping hosts.

The father surnamed Zhang of Hebei Province is seeking a full refund from Huya, a Chinese live streaming platform, after the girl managed to log on to his account, media reported on Monday.

The platform has only agreed to a 30-percent refund, claiming a lack of evidence.

Between July 13 and 16, Zhang said his daughter made 35 transactions to more than 10  livestreamers in order to gain VIP follower status.

The family submitted bank statements and chat histories between their daughter and the livestream hosts, only to be told by Huya employees that they must provide video evidence showing the transaction was made by a juvenile.

The family is now considering filing a lawsuit against the platform.
