The 8th Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters (LEBM) Press Conference took place at the   Longines World Equestrian Academy, Dashing Stable, on September 2.

The classic equestrian event will take place from October 12 to 14, during which six levels of competitions will be held. Organized by Dashing Stable, new elements such as the U14 Rising Star Class, allow young Chinese talent to demonstrate their skills at the Bird's Nest.

Meanwhile, there will be 235 national and international rider-horse pairs, competing for a total prize of 2.3 million yuan ($336,000) from six levels of competition.

At the 8th Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters, watchmakers Longines will continue to be the title sponsor and the official timekeeper for the seventh consecutive year. With a 186-year-old tradition of refined watch making and a lasting enthusiasm for equestrian sports, Longines has long served as an official timekeeper for an array of world-class equestrian events.

Longines also launched elegant and precise wrist masterpieces. For this year's event, Longines presented the Record Collection as the designated watch of the event in order to pay tribute to the bond between Longines and equestrian sports for nearly 140 years. BMW will continue to be the diamond partner and mobility partner of the event.

The guests present at the press conference included Zhong Guowei, secretary general of the Chinese Equestrian Association; Xiang Jun, secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of the National Stadium Corporate Ltd; Li Jing, president of Dashing Equestrian; Ludger Beerbaum, chairman of Longines World Equestrian Academy and Kate Tsai, marketing director of Longines China. This event has brought more than 300 sponsors, partner representatives, media, riders and horse lovers, who witnessed the opening of the 8th Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters together for the press conference, each with high expectations.

In the past eight years, Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters gradually grew to be one of the leading equestrian events in China, while also carrying the passion of horse lovers from home and abroad. "LEBM have constantly adhered  to and persisted for eight years in providing the most enthusiastic event services for domestic and international riders, the most professional competitive environment and the most international platform with their sincere respect and passion toward equestrian sports," Zhong said in the speech at the press conference.

During the competition, 10 outstanding international riders will compete with more than 190 domestic riders, and 235 horse-rider pairs will make an appearance at the Bird's Nest. The number of participants increased by 33.5 percent compared with that of 2017. The data shows that after upgrading event, the Chinese equestrian industry is undergoing rapid development.

At the same time, the data also demonstrated the growth and development of the Longines Equestrian Beijing Masters. The event itself has allowed domestic riders to perform on a bigger and better international stage.
