The Delegation of the European Union to China celebrated the diversity of European cultures through the European Culture Street festival on September 22, a cultural event featuring the participation of all 28 EU member states. Media were invited to the launch event and had an opportunity to participate in an opening ceremony, group tour, and informative group interview with the newly appointed EU Ambassador to China, Nicolas Chapuis, and other ambassadors from EU member states.

At European Culture Street, all 28 EU member states operating booths showcased their unique culture, including food and drink, heritage, education and tourism opportunities. Visitors were able to sample the many authentic European products on display, such as Finnish soda, Bulgarian rose wine and honey, Swedish ginger bread cookies, Slovenian wine, and much more. Musicians and performers took to the stage throughout the day to show attendees the richness of Europe's heritage in living color, including but not limited to a live band from Germany, dancing Smurfs from Belgium, a children's play from Poland, Greek dancers and songs from Hungary and Portugal. There were also extensive interactive activities throughout the day to allow visitors to take part in authentic European experiences, such as learning Spanish Flamenco dancing and participating in pop-up Hungarian language lessons.

The Delegation of the European Union to China operated an additional booth, providing information on the events of the day, guiding visitors, and handing out special souvenir "EU Passports" which visitors can use to collect a stamp from each EU Member State booth that they visited and received a small EU gift at the end of their journey.
