One of the most-anticipated films for the upcoming National Day holiday in China, Chinese crime action film Project Gutenberg is set to hit Chinese mainland theaters on Sunday, a day before the seven-day holiday begins.

Starring famous Hong Kong stars Chow Yun Fat and Aaron Kwok and directed by Felix Chong, the story follows a painter (Kwok) and the head of a crime family (Chow) as they launch a global money-counterfeiting operation.

The latest trailers released during the film's Beijing premiere on Monday showcased Chow's character igniting a US note with a lit cigarette, seemingly a call back to the classic character of Brother Mark that Chow played in John Woo's 1986 crime action flick A Better Tomorrow.

Regarded by some critics as one of the best crime films in the past two years, Project Gutenberg will face a strong competition from Zhang Yimou's Shadow and Chinese comedy studio Mahua FunAge's film Hello, Mrs. Money.
