"I want to know how I had been diagnosed as psychotic?"

So said 54-year-old man Wan Yousheng, who lives in Nanchang, capital of East China's Jiangxi Province. Wan recently won a lawsuit against Jiangxi Psychiatric Hospital one decade after he was brought to the hospital and diagnosed as psychotic. Wan recalled that night in December of 2008, when he was dragged in against his will by security guards and examined for 17 hours. His mother and younger brother finally arranged for his release, however, the hospital said it was in fact Wan's own son and daughter who ordered his exam. Ten years and several lawsuits later, the Higher People's Court of Jiangxi Province ruled that the hospital must compensate Wan 38,000 yuan ($5,470) along with a written apology.
