"It's these times that give me the chance to develop this interest, and my interest also becomes a part of the history."
So said Wei Youhua, a man in his seventies who loves collecting maps in his spare time and has collected over 3,000 Beijing maps up to now. He started collecting maps since 1981, when he saw a 1971 circulation map of Beijing at an old bookstall. He found the names of many places in Beijing had been changed, which he found to be very interesting, so he bought the map. From that day forward, he's fell in love with old bookstores and flea markets, where he can easily found some old city maps. According to Wei, these maps are the epitome of Beijing's development, and he is very happy to witness these changes through his collections. (Source: Beijing Youth Daily)
