It is an important work for discipline inspection and supervision organs at all levels to encourage officials and members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) who have been punished for minor violations to repent for and correct their mistakes, the China Discipline Inspection Daily affiliated to the Central Commission for Disciplinary Inspection (CCDI) of the CPC, reported on Tuesday.

A total of 1.737 million members of the CPC were punished for violating disciplinary regulations in 2018, and 1.681 million of them were punished for minor problems, according to the CCDI.

Educating these officials and carrying out ideological and political work would help them correct their mistakes and encourage them, said the newspaper.

More than 300 officials from the disciplinary inspection organs in Huaihua, Central China's Hunan Province, have been dispatched to visit 1,560 punished officials and Party members to offer them guidance.

The disciplinary inspection committee in Longhua district, Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong Province, organized return visits to help punished Party members with difficulties they were facing in life.

If the CPC members completely corrected their mistakes and perform well, their rights will be restored and the punishment will be dismissed.

Education and supervision should be given to those who fail to thoroughly transform their thinking and have a passive attitude toward their work, said the newspaper.
