Chinese netizens slammed restrictions imposed on female college students that prohibit them from dyeing and perming their hair, and wearing nail polish and jewelry.

The International Business School at the Jilin International Studies University in Northeast China's Jilin Province announced that women at the school are also not allowed to wear skirts above the knee. Male students will not be allowed in a classroom wearing flip flops or sandals, according to a video on btime.com.

The business school claims that a university campus is a civilized and cultural venue, and students need to dress in a clean and civilized manner.

Those who don't conform will lose marks.

The online video received a lot of criticism from netizens.

"College students are adults. They have the freedom to choose what they want to wear," was a typical comment.
