An online shop that sells stinky tofu, a pungent traditional Chinese snack that can assault the nose from many meters away, is having trouble hiring workers even after offering a sweet salary.

The shop is offering new employees 10,000 yuan ($1,490) a month, perhaps double what comparable positions might pay that don't leave workers' olfactory screaming at the end of a shift.

New recruits can't even wear perfume to cover up the stench of the tofu made with fermented bamboo shoots.

Many employees last only a month on the job before succumbing to the extraordinary, stick-to-everything aroma,  accordin to the report of the Xiaoxiang Morning Post.

"After a day in the workshop, you can smell the acidic stink even on your nails," the paper quoted a worker as saying.

Many netizens on Sina Weibo agreed the company wasn't offering nearly enough dough(fu).
