With the thriving development of e-commerce platforms, some stores have become online pharmacies that sell Chinese medicinal herbs, which, as those stores claim, could cure all kinds of cancer. Some recipes of the medicines are said to be handed down from ancestors and that once taken, any illness will be cured. However, it turns out that most of the stores do not have occupational certificates and the origin of the medicinal herbs is unclear. What's worse, the medical effect is difficult to certify. But still, one can see that some stores have already had hundreds of buyers. It is true that traditional Chinese medicine is based on more than 2,500 years of Chinese medical practice and has proven to be effective sometimes, but customers should have a clear mind of what they are buying. Moreover, when it is about life-and-death issues, supervisors of e-commerce platforms should play their role to verify the qualifications of online stores before the interests of consumers are compromised or tragedy happens.
